Get Involved!

Are you inspired to join the work for justice? We’re honored to have you on board!

Sound Off: Music for Bail performs an excerpt of Wu Man’s Muqaddima from Glimpses of Muqam Chebiyat, recorded live at our November 19, 2022 Groupmuse concert at the People’s Forum.

We have a variety of needs both in-person and virtual, before, during, and after shows.

Sound Off: Music for Bail and the Talent Unlimited High School Chamber Orchestra perform Daniel Bukin’s string orchestra arrangement of Thomas “Blind Tom” Wiggins’ Water in the Moonlight.

We’ve got more than just concerts to come to! From open rehearsals to talks at educational institutions, there’s a lot you can join us for.

Sound Off: Music for Bail has a variety of avenues that allow for people from many different walks of life to get involved. Pressing needs include finding ways of amplifying our work via social media and offline contacts, graphic design for our many events, and help leading educational events. We are always interested in partnering with organizations that share our passion for justice and belief in the power of abolition. Please use the form to the right to get in contact with us!

For our educational programming and our concert series, we have put together the following statement for the 2023-24 season:

We believe strongly in compensating presenters and performers, and center Black, indigenous American, Latinx, and Asian people who have taken the time to work in liberation & reparative fields in our choices of instructors, musicians, and speakers. If you fall into one of the above communities and would like to work with us, please do not hesitate to reach out.
Given the vastly varying scopes of our 2023-2024 concerts, pay is determined on a show-by-show basis.

It is deeply important to us that we pay living wages to our community members, although we are deeply aware that our stipends are far lower than what we would like. We are grateful for the kindness of people who have already worked with us, and would like to increase these rates as soon as fiscally possible. If you would like to aid in these efforts, please consider our fundraising events, sharing our programming on social media, and creating mediums of your own to not only help direct funds, but also expand the network of artists, learners, and activists.

If you’re still wondering where your talents might be best used, consider coming to a Sound Off event! Check out our calendar below.
