Who We Are
Sound Off: Music for Bail is a dynamic collective of musicians, activists, and thinkers dedicated to raising money for abolitionist organizations and bail funds across the country, rethinking notions of public safety as they relate to real-life communities, and playing great music.
What We Do
We cultivate musical education, high-level chamber music performances, and awareness of the U.S. prison-industrial complex through online classes, concerts, and in-person actions.
Sound Off: Music for Bail performs Neutral Objects by Yaz Lancaster at Broadway Presbyterian Church for our February 27th, 2021 Groupmuse in partnership with the Planetary Music Movement.
Sound Off: Music for Bail performs the Andante moderato from Florence Price’s String Quartet in G Major at Broadway Presbyterian Church for our January 16th Groupmuse concert in partnership with Bass Players for Black Composers.
Who We’re For
Musicians seeking free & low-cost training in a variety of styles, audiences interested in making a difference, and families & individuals affected by policing, criminalization, and racism.
How To Catch Us
We offer several mainstage concerts over the course of a season, pairing diverse music and performers with speakers that interrogate the prison-industrial complex. We also support allied organizations with musical offerings at their events, all while developing our own skills as organizers and artists.
